“Personal data” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person; a natural person is considered identifiable if such person can be identified directly or indirectly, and in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, identification number, location data, online identifier, or to one or more specific characteristics that are an expression of the physical, physiological, genetic, psychological, economic, cultural or social identity of that individual.
These individual details relating to personal or factual circumstances include, for example, such information as name, address, telephone number and email address.

When using services through our websites, as a rule, we only collect such personal data as required to provide these services.
Where further personal data is requested, this relates to such data that we are legally permitted to collect, or such data for which you have provided a separate declaration of consent to our collection and use.
We will only collect and use your personal data for the purpose for which you have voluntarily provided it.
You can also visit our websites without entering any personal information. In this regard, we do not store any personal data. In order to improve our services, we only evaluate statistical data that does not allow us to identify you personally. Your data shall solely be transmitted to governmental institutions and authorities in accordance with mandatory national statutory provisions or where we are obliged to do so by a court judgment or official decision. Our employees and the service companies commissioned by us are obliged to maintain confidentiality and comply with the provisions of the German Federal Data Protection Act [Bundesdatenschutzgesetz].
Type and Use of Automatically Collected Data
Our website makes frequent use of so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser. They are used to make our offerings more user-friendly, effective and secure.
No user data is stored with the exception of the IP address. The information received through the cookies is used to automatically recognize you when you revisit our websites and to make navigation easier for you. By way of example, cookies allow you to customize a website to suit your interests or to save your password so that you do not have to re-enter it each time you visit.
Of course, you can also view our websites without cookies. You can prevent cookies from being stored on your computer by selecting “Do not accept cookies” in your browser settings. Please refer to the instructions of your browser manufacturer for details on how to do so. However, if you do not accept cookies, this may affect the functionality of our websites.
Our websites use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics places a cookie on your computer to enable analysis of your use of our websites. However, if you enable IP anonymization for our websites and are located in a member state of the European Union or in other signatory states to the EEA Agreement, your Google IP address will be shortened before transmission. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA, where it will be shortened. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of these websites to evaluate your use of the websites, to compile reports on website activity and to provide further services for the operator associated with the use of the websites and the Internet. The IP address transmitted by your browser in connection with Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. You can prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that, should you do so, you may not be able to use the functions of these websites to the full extent. We would like to point out that we have extended Google Analytics on our websites through the “anonymizeIp” code in order to guarantee anonymized collection of IP addresses (so-called IP masking).
We have put technical and organizational security measures in place to protect your personal data from loss, destruction, manipulation and unauthorized access. All of our employees and all third parties involved in data processing are obliged to comply with the German Federal Data Protection Act and to treat personal data in strictest confidence.
Our security measures are continuously reviewed and revised in line with technological developments.
This data protection statement does not extend to any links that you access through your use of our websites. We make every effort to ensure that the websites to which we provide links also comply with our data protection and security standards. However, we are not able to influence whether/how other providers comply with data protection and security provisions.
